Director Sudhir Mishra is adapting Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ in Indian context for his next political drama with Farhan Akhtar in lead.

Farhan will play a young man who is forced to join politics and later becomes an influential political leader like the way Hamlet did when his father was killed. The movie is named ‘Dhruv’ and stars Kareena Kapoor and Chitrangada Singh in lead.

Ranbir Kapoor in Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti and Farhan Akhtar in Sudhir Mishra’s Druv to be produced by Farhan and Riteish have a lot in common.

Both the leading men play reluctant politicians, educated westernized young people who when forced into politics take their responsibilities as political leaders seriously.

Both will be playing chief ministers of Indian states who learn the political game on the job.

While the politics of Prakash Jha’s cinema is inspired by the Mahabharat, Mario Puzo’s The Godfather and happenings in the Gandhi dynasty, Sudhir Mishra’s film will seek straight inspiration from Shakespeare’s Hamlet and episodes from the director’s grandfather’s life.

Since they started shooting from 1 April, the unit of Excel Entertainment's Karthik Calling Karthik has traveled to three different places.

Excel Entertainment head honcho Ritesh Sidhwani says, "Since the film was planned with a start to finish schedule, we have been on the move. We started in Mumbai, then shifted base to Lonavala for a few days. We shot in Cochin and now we are back in Mumbai. The shooting for the film will be complete by the first week of June."

Hello! It's Karthik Calling Karthik for Deepika and Farhan. The director-turned-actor-turned-singer will team up with Chandni Chowk girl Deepika Padukone for Karthik Calling Karthik to be directed by debutant Vijay Lalwani.

One look at the promos of LUCK BY CHANCE and you know for sure that it is not a frivolous film in the offering. Though the film has its song and dance routines with all the fun in the offering, LUCK BY CHANCE does seem to be carrying a much deeper meaning to it. The show is going to be different and will have mass appeal. It is a first time attempt on Indian television to include talents from various fields on such a large scale.

You have been a reality show judge on television earlier.

But Oye... is a completely different experience. This show will have singing, dancing, gags with cutting-edge humour and mimicry. I’m the host of the show, but I would rather term myself as the master of ceremony because I will be interacting both with the viewers and the guests on the show.
