The Bandra Kurla Complex was buzzing, as Radio Mirchi announced its winners for the finest talent of 2009 in Hindi film music at the awards night.
There was palpable excitement on the red carpet as filmmaker Rakesh Roshan came in with superstar son Hrithik Roshan. The Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay
Kumar too had the crowds outside go wild. Vidya Balan looked stunningly demure in a sari while Anil Kapoor came all suited and booted straight from
the airport to the venue to give away the award to one of Bollywood’s best lyricists, Prasoon Joshi. Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone
presented awards to the new talent in the music world. Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Fardeen Khan also graced the occasion.
There
were electrifying performances by singers like KK, Sunidhi Chuahan, Rekha Bhardwaj, Himesh Reshammiya and Usha Uthup. Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif
enthralled the audience by performing on the best tracks of the year. For the audience, it was history unfolding right in front of their eyes. The
winners accepted their awards with exhilaration and humility, as the air filled with thunderous applause and cheers.
