After pairing with the top stars of Bollywood, Deepika’s decision to be Farhan’s heroine may come as a surprise.

Deepika Padukone is being sought by Excel Entertainment, the banner of Farhan Akhtar and his good friend Ritesh Sidhwani , for a movie called Kartik Calling Kartik . The film, to be directed by a first timer, will have Farhan playing the leading man.

Debutant director Vijay Lalwani has a script that enthused Farhan not just to produce the film but also act in it, even if it meant pushing back his own film Voices From The Sky .




Talks are said to be going on with Deepika and reports say she has expressed her interest and given a verbal nod to the project, though she still has to sign on the dotted line.

The movie, a thriller, will be shot at various locations in India in the first half of 2009.

Meanwhile, Farhan is presently busy promoting his upcoming film Luck By Chance , which marks the directorial debut of his sister Zoya Akhtar .

Deepika, on the other hand, is outside India for the seven global premieres of her upcoming film Chandni Chowk To China
