Even as Karthik Calling Karthik moves closer to the release date, Farhan Akhtar is busy with other things. Globetrotting, for one. Well, he’s not really on a world tour to calm his nerves before the release, instead, he is already working on his next big venture — Don 2.

Along with his business partner, Ritesh Sidhwani, he is apparently doing a recce around Germany, Turkey, Manila and Poland to scout for locations.

Farhan Akhtar refuses to divulge whether he has double role in Karthik Calling Karthik. "All I can tell you is that I play a lonely introverted character down on his luck, unsure and inarticulate. Everyone takes advantage of the guy I play."

Farhan is quick to point out he doesn't play a geek. "Karthik isn't a geek. Something happened in his childhood to make him the way he is. This guy is just an introvert."

All the films that Farhan has been seen in so far have been produced by the actor himself. "I've no issues working for any producer as long as the project and its backers are rock-solid. An actor's worst nightmare is if his project stalls midway. The thing is, whoever has come with an acting offer wanted me to produce his films. With Karthik Calling Karthik for the first time my company is co-producing a film with a company called Magic Bean. The director Vijay Lalvani came to me with the offer to act and co-produce Karthik..."

Farhan Akhtar’s character morphs from a loser to a cool dude in Karthik Calling Karthik. Of course, one clichéd way is to bring in a bike to lend him the required coolth. Farhan is a man of many talents, but riding a bike wasn’t one of them. So he set about learning to ride one and even got himself a licence, thus taking no chances with legalities.

The scene was shot only when Farhan was confident on the bike after a month of practice. A source said;In the film, Farhan plays a loser who undergoes a change.
